DC has been lovely, al though much colder than I expected. On friday, we’ll be off to New York!
I’m currently sat at the YVR airport waiting to board my flight, and obviously I am ridiculously excited. This coming week I’ll be travelling around with a dear friend of mine, Rachel, from Flint, Michigan through DC and ultimately to New York City. I haven’t seen Rachel since my departure from France, where we first met as exchange students. I left France almost exactly one year ago, and I wasn’t expecting to see her again for at least a couple years. Reminiscing our months abroad and creating new memories this week is going to be amazing. Be prepared for lots of pictures.
I guess you never know what kind of adventures may be coming your way, which is quite a comforting thought.
You’ll hear from me again soon enough ~

More from the other day. I can’t get over how gorgeous that forest was. it seemed so untouched. probably because it was smack in the middle of a military firing range. what kind of crazy do you have to be to hike in a shooting zone?
a little mossy hill we found, because Rowan had to pee and his search for a suitable place led him to a little paradise.
Hello friends, families, and strangers! I suppose an introduction would be fit.
My name is Rowan, and I will be going abroad as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student from Canada to Germany for an entire year. I depart in August of 2015 and return in July of the next year. This is my blog, where I will be sharing photos, thoughts, proverbs from my journal, and anything else I deem worthy of sharing. This blog is partly for my own benefit as a personal outlet, but also will be used as a little gateway for anyone who would like to keep up with my exchange (A.K.A. an excuse to avoid long phone calls with my family). My ask is always open for any questions about anything. I hope you enjoy whatever weird things end up on here as you follow along with my journey!
Meet Rowan! He’s a loser (and he’s going to germany) Check out his exchange blog!
there is nothing better than coffee and conversation after a hike
a candid featuring my rings and that one old jean jacket of mine
Don’t worry too much if the directions are confusing. getting lost in a beautiful place is just as rewarding as getting to the destination
nature is dirty and so are you
